Letting out a breath, Henry tried to pull his mind back, back to the days when he was Henry VIII, commanding the armies of the English throne from the battlefield himself. He and Charles Brandon had been fierce and mighty on the field, and it seemed he would need to remember that this night. Henry listened with grave attention to Sonya's words, recalling her fantastical tales of her own history and taking her word for the threat they would be facing.
"The rear of the house is the most vulnerable," he replied. "Its front face has few windows, for privacy, but the back opens onto the pool and patio. With the rock landscaping around the pool, and that set of glass doors, we have something of a natural choke point," he said, indicating that part of the building.
