"The general world, probably not, but hell, this world that we find ourselves in, would. You have couples here that are same-sex and find happiness. Lady Jade has made her entire life about being the type of person you dare to hide. She's lived for over four millenia and the only thing she has ever hid is the fact that she is that old. This lifestyle you say you have, it would not be lost. This image you are giving yourself isn't for everyone else, it's for that girl. And for what reason? Because you love her? Because you could love her? If that were true, you wouldn't feel the need to lie to her."
He took a moment to breath before reaching out and clasping his father's shoulder.
"Father, I don't say these things to anger you," he said. "I want you to be happy. I saw you happy before. But this image of who you think you need to be to be happy is what tears you down and what led you to be the man history sees. You have a second chance to be who you truly are and to stop living behind pretext and some fake image you've created."
