He didn't look affronted, he simply shook his head. "I was with Bill. Not because he's a vampire, not because he's anything but Bill. I can't see him as anything but charismatic." He shrugged and looked at her. "I wouldn't have let just any old vampire do that. I wouldn't trust just any old vampire. I guess they're sort of like the opposite of regular people - most regular people I meet are pretty good with some terrible ones mixed in, but they're pretty terrible with some good ones mixed in."
He took a longer pull of his draught, and smiled at her. "Sookie's really important to you. ... if she only gets inolved with Bill, she'll be fine. If she's careful and smart, sure. And if she's not, you've got the numbers for a couple of hunters." He looked at her and shrugged. "I take care of my friends too, shorty."
