"Mhm," he replied, mostly into her hair. He knew that part of the reason she'd been so quick to jump into bed was because she wanted to get her mind off of Bruce, but he didn't care. He was in love with her. His job was to make her happy. And if distracting her was what it took to make her happy, he wasn't going to complain.
"Be sure to tell me when you're good to go again," he said, smirking. Soft laughter was her only response. Eventually they managed to pull apart, but only long enough to get under the covers. Most of the time, they stayed awake. They showered and went about their day or night, whichever was appropriate. Or they lay in bed and talk for a while. Tonight, everything that had to be said, had been. He loved her. She loved him. To judge from the faint smile on Carrie's face as she drifted off to sleep, she didn't need much else.
