Who: Eric and Death When: This evening What: Pumpkins! Pigeons! Ball-room dancing! Maybe all, maybe none. Where: New York
Getting out of the gloomy confines of the cathedral was what Eric would generally call 'a bad idea.' At least lately, at least this month. He hadn't even gone out to wander around the city's rooftops as he often did when he felt the onset of cabin fever. No, he'd been staying in. Going out brought risks, such as seeing a situation he might want to involve himself in. And as cathartic as snapping the neck of a mugger might be, it was probably a bad idea to throw himself into such a practice and allow it to become a habit.
Needless to say, he wasn't exactly feeling his best of late. However, when the offer did come to go out for an evening from the lady Death, he agreed. How could he say no? He'd never had much of a chance to spend time with her before, and it would be an interesting evening if nothing else. How appropriate. A night out with Death in mid-October.
He was waiting in the park. The sun was beginning to sink below the horizon, but just. The light was golden, and people were still busily going about their business. Interestingly enough, he barely got a second glance from most of the people who walked by. There were enough strange people in town to make his rather striking appearance a bit less of a novelty.
