Ganieda, as always, was watching from her window. Her mouth fell open as she saw what Merlin was riding to come for her. "Heavens," she breathed. She hurried out to the living room to wait for Merlin's knock.
Sadie and David were out again; Ganieda was all too glad to let them go. The quiet was worth the loneliness. But today she needn't be lonely. She opened the door to her brother when he knocked.
"You see? You always surprise me," she said with a smile and a laugh.
