Henry raised his glass to her. "A toast, then, to your fine and generous way of thinking," he said, his smirk now firmly etched into his expression. He very highly doubted the historical him had ever had quite this kind of riposting exchange with Jane, and more was the pity. Still, it worked out best for him, and that was always a priority. "And I couldn't agree more-- that is, in reciprocation. I've come to understand far too many men are still quite selfish in their pleasures."
He tsked, wondering how the gender could have kept from developing better habits in five centuries.
