Where Anteros was her heart, Sam was her soul. She'd grown through Anteros and without the ability to love him and James and even Nicholas, she wouldn't have been able to love Sam as much and as thoroughly as she did. She knew that, even as a mortal, the Gods were blessing her. First with Sam and now their son. Being home, even if it was only for a short while, made her feel as if everything in her life was going to be okay.

An hour passed before the man stopped the vehicle and looked back at her through the mirror. He told her that he couldn't take the car any further. Smiling at him, Anne said, "We'll walk."
