Cap surveyed his troops. He was already thinking of them that way, and now that they were all here, his mind easily switched over into complete battlefield mode. And right now, they needed some rallying. “Thank you all for coming.” He let his gaze rest on each of them for a few seconds. “I know there aren’t many people here. Some of you are probably thinking that there aren’t enough of us here to really make a difference.” He gestured outside, where the silhouette of Apocalypse could already be seen. “Understandable. That thing is huge and we only have eight people standing between it and New York City, maybe even the world.” He looked out at the sky, pausing briefly in his speech. “But each of us brings something unique to the table. Unique powers, unique outlooks, and most importantly unique heart. And that’s what’s going to win the day here, folks. We are eight people who have been through more than most ever should. Maybe we only have eight bodies, but we each bring armies of experience.” And then he turned, and he was grinning like the devil himself. “Now here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to go out there and we’re going to save the world. Understand?”
Without waiting for assent, he pointed out one of the front windows. His voice was steel now, hard and cold with an aura of “don’t fuck with me” that might even have given the blue giant pause, if he could have heard it. “Spider-Man. I want you down exactly one block, making a thick web-line across the street, about that giant’s shin level. Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, you both take to the air and aim at this thing’s face. It’s unarmored, so it’s probably the most vulnerable spot on that thing. Iron Man, I want you to drop me right on this thing’s forehead. I’m going to try and peel back as much of its upper armor as I can. Wasp, this thing wears bio-armor, I want you shrunk down and the minute you see a way in, get in there and start screwing with this thing’s connections to its suit. Kate, you go with Spider-Man, I want you taking care of any crazies that come at him so he’s not distracted from the tripline. Boudreaux, I want you on the rooftops firing some of your pulse blasts at it, primarily at the face but if you see any malfunctioning armor parts, give it a second for Wasp to get clear and then fire at them."
Now he looked at Zelos, hands crossed and his shield leaning against his hip. "Wilder. You can't do healing magic, that's fine. Just give us any offensive magic you've got. Blast it with your most powerful spells, as quickly as you can. Ultimately, Spider-Man and Kate are the two keys to my plan. Once this behemoth is down, we all converge on it's head and we take it out." He glanced at each member of his team, hefted his shield. "We don't have a lot of time. Anyone has any questions, you speak up now."
