Carrie moved down the escape silently. She needed to get low enough that the jump down wouldn't hurt her. It was important she didn't catch the thugs' attention, as she wasn't really in the mood to be shot at tonight. Thankfully, they were too distracted. And it didn't hurt that she blended into the night.
Carrie jumped over the fire escape's edge and landed between the two thugs. Her foot came down on one's shoulder. She hit the second as soon as she landed. He reeled and Carrie managed to pull the gun out of his hand. She tossed the thing over her shoulder, in the cop's direction. She threw a hard punch and the guy doubled over. "I'll get back to you in a sec," she said. That was one guy disarmed.
The first, the one she'd landed on, was just coming to his senses as Carrie turned her attention to him. He pointed his gun at her and she quickly dodged. "Gimme that," she growled, bringing her hand down on his wrist in a swift, chopping motion. He shouted and dropped the thing quickly. He wouldn't be using that hand for a while. Carrie kicked him hard at the right spot and he went down.
Just then the second guy grabbed her from behind. Carrie felt a hand go around her throat. She kicked herself for being slow. She was better than this. "Gotcha, Catwoman," the guy said in her throat. Carrie grit her teeth. She didn't like that.
She brought a foot down on his knee and his grip loosened. It took a second to twist out of his grasp. "Catwoman? Seriously?" Carrie sounded annoyed. "Do I look like Catwoman? Don't answer that," she said quickly. "Have you ever seen Catwoman? She has breasts like you wouldn't believe. She's got to have D's or DD's. Me? I'm a b-cup on a lucky day. Let's open our eyes here, asshole."
"Huh?" Her assailant looked extremely confused.
"I'm Catgirl and I'm new. I'd take it as a kindness if you could spread my name around. I'm the five-foot-nothing, hundred pound girl that totally kicked your ass." With that, she brought her fists and feet flew. She beat him up for a few seconds and then twisted his hand behind his back. "Hey officer," Carrie called. "Got a present for you. I'd appreciate it if you didn't shoot at me."
