"Not a panic attack," she said. "Well. For a half second, but I'm used to falling. I just turned my arm the wrong way. Lost the wind. I will get it." She sounded absolutely sure of that. "But I'll probably be lining for a while." She grinned.
In a few minutes, she was back on the top of a building. "Let's do that one more time." Carrie was nothing if not stubborn. With a deep breath, she took off and jumped off the building. She did the same thing she'd done before, but kept much more aware of the placement of her arms. She whooped loudly as she made it down a street, still moving jerkily, but never dropping.
By the end of the block, she retracted the wings and lined to another rooftop. "Okay. That was the best thing ever." She hopped around a little, still riding a wave of adrenaline.
