Carrie sprayed the sludge that had come off of her body down the drain. She was clean again and feeling considerably better. Her eyes were still red and she could feel her eyes still welling with tears, but the shaky sobs had stopped. Crying was good for her, kept her from exploding or going completely crazy. Whenever the stress of the job became too much to deal with, she'd find a quiet spot and let it out that way. It wasn't exactly the toughest thing to do, but no one ever got to see it happen, so that didn't matter. She turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, sniffling a little.
It took her a minute to dry herself off. In that time, she tested her voice to see if it sounded stable. "You say something?" She asked through the door, not completely sure that he hadn't already left for the streets again. Her pitch was just a little higher than normal. She exited the bathroom and headed to their room for clothes, towel around her more for the sake of warmth than modesty.
