"You know I will." Chase nodded, and his pager went off. He bit his lip and sighed, shutting it off. "I have to run but if there's any change the nurses will page me." He clapped Caleb on the shoulder. "You're all in my thoughts." Turning he left the room.
Pete shook his head and sighed deeply, brushing some of Karen's hair out of her face. "When her mother left I worried she wouldn't be ok with just a Dad, when she was 17 and ran off to California I worried she wouldn't become a doctor and would work like a dog all her life like I had to." He looked up at Caleb. "I never dreamed I'd have to worry about whether she'd be a human incubator at 30." His hand again rubbed her belly. "I know I gave you guys crap about it at first but being there, seeing her fall in love with it, him, I get it now. And I couldn't be happier she found you when she did."
