"I have to be honest with you Caleb, if her blood pressure does get too high or her kidneys start to go, her only chance of survival would be termination of the pregnancy. Which doesn't only mean abortion, it would just have to be ended, a C-Section. And this early on the baby's survival chances would be limited, but she'd recover."

Pete shook his head quickly from the other side of the room, looking into her face. "No, no. It has to be put off, as long as it can. Karen wouldn't want that."
