Pete's face reflected Caleb's frustration, but he stayed quiet to get the answer.
Chase sighed, shaking his head. "We're running tests, Caleb. It seems Karen isn't. .just unconscious, not like she passed out. There's no outward sign of swelling on her brain, but there could be smaller biuts of swelling in the brain tissue that's preventing her from waking up. It could be hours, days, weeks. There's no way to know." He knew what the next question would be, so he immediately went into the answer. "We're waiting on the results of her MRI, the two of you can see her, but any other visitors you'll have to approve, Mr. Davis. And they'll have to come in one by one."
Pete nodded mutely and Chase managed a smile, a small attempt at comforting them before showing them back to Karen's room where a nurse was making sure she was as comfortable as she could, she left so they could see her alone. Pete went to sit on the far side of the bed and take her left hand, a char was near the right side too.
