Aside from a nasty gash in her temple, she wasn't really banded up much at all, her arms clutching herself had protected her abdomen pretty well from any trauma when she fell. She didn't move, didn't moan, lay peacefully as her father frantically tried to make her wake up.
He checked her pulse, and when he felt it, strong under his fingers, he moved back so two workers could carefully move her unto a gurney to rush over into the hospital, Pete hurrying along after with Caleb.
They had to wait for a good hour before a nurse brought a doctor out to talk to them.
"We've done an ultrasound and put the baby on a fetal monitor, the baby isn't in any distress, good strong pulse. Sleeping, it seems."
