Anne was so distracted by the books that at the moment, the woman and the two ferrets behind the counter didn't register at first. She turned as the woman greeted her and was about to respond when her eye caught the two animals on the counter. Anne couldn't help but look surprised: they looked like weasels, but she reasoned that since they're coats were groomed, the creatures were pets-strange, but not the most unusual animal tamed.
She looked back at the woman and smiled. "Ah, no thank you, I am just looking. It is strange seeing this many books available for everyone." Her german accent was still evident, even after all her time in England.
