Having taken a week to get herself accustomed to this new world, Anne thought it high time to look around the city. To her, the city was much cleaner than those she was used to, exhaust fumes aside, it wasn't nearly as bad as the open sewers. The crowds still made her feel small, however.
If her brother had been here, he would've worked himself into getting a stroke. Anne ,on the other hand, couldn't bring herself to be judgmental. After all, she herself must've seemed strange and blundering when she had first arrived in England.
She came across the shop because it appeared both fascinating and cozy, stepping inside, she was comforted by the stacks of books and curious about the rest of the store. But if Anne was anything, it was a quick study.
