-----
Yesterday, as promised, Judah had set up a ferret enclosure while Sable and the cousins were having dinner in Tortuga. Judah, brilliant man (in Sable's estimation), had managed in that time to construct not one, but several large cages linked by a series of magic-strengthened chickenwire tunnels. The largest cage is situated beside the front counter, immediately visible from the main entrance. The chickenwire tunnel pathways, well out of the way of any human patron, lead to smaller cages in the kitchen, two tucked into nooks at the back of aisles in the main shop, at the top of the stairs leading to the balcony circling the shop above, and in the public-use bathroom. The chickenwire weaved in funny patterns up walls, over shelves, and on the ceiling, letting the ferrets see the shop from a number of vantage points when they weren't allowed to run free.
Today, though, they're out of their cages being played with by Sable behind the counter. They're still small and a bit shy, but over the past 24 hours alone, regular food and water and a clean home have perked the two of them up wonderfully.
