Hearing Sam say her name like that made tears spring to her own eyes. The tenderness with which he held her, touched her and kissed her forehead brought her close to actual crying. She knew she didn't deserve him.

"Sam," she whispered, opening her eyes to look at him, "I'm so sorry. For everything. All of it. I didn't mean-" She shook her head and looked down at the hand on her abdomen with a tender smile. Placing her own over it, she continued in a whisper, "I love you."
