She was lonely, and had asked-- pleaded, in fact-- to see him. And though Henry wasn't happy that Gabriella was upset, it was still a very good sign. Despite what he'd said to Charles Brandon, Henry had very little actually planned when it came to his pretty new ingénue, but this couldn't be bad.

So it was that Henry had to forgo his first airplane trip, something he was greatly looking forward to, and instead used the local portkeys to return to L.A., mind busy with what he might be able to do that would lift the girl's spirits. A brief limousine ride brought him to Gabriella's apartment building, a high-priced, high-fashion complex only a ten minute drive from his house.

Paying for the place himself gave him access, so there was no need to buzz Gabriella. He let himself up to her floor, then knocked on her apartment door.
