Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Jacob and Bella
What: Jacob rescuing Bella from her new life.
Where: Vienna and back to New York
When: Probably now
Warnings: Much to Jacob's dismay, none.

Jacob knew that he couldn't deny her. Bella needed him and no matter how mad he'd been at her before he'd arrived in this crazy world, he still loved her. Too much the rest of the pack might argue. They'd had to endure his thoughts and go through the pain of his heartbreak right along with him. But here, now, for some reason Edward wasn't part of Bella's life. Jacob didn't understand that, but he wasn't gonna question it either. He knew she was hurting because the Edward here didn't seem to have any memory of her, or of them. So, he was doing what he always did when it came to her. Running to her side. Sam and the guys might tease him and call him whipped, but he couldn't help how he felt. How he'd probably always feel.

It took him awhile, but he finally figured the portkey thing out. And then, he was on his way to Vienna. Kinda strange for a kid who'd never been out of LaPush or Forks. He'd spent all of his sixteen years there. That place was his whole world and now, well, the whole world was easily accessible by these weird things called portkeys. It was pretty cool if you asked him.

Once he go there, it didn't take him long to track Bella down. As soon as he stepped into the room, he started cracking up. "Gee Bells, you're looking...." A grin crept over his features and he chuckled again, shaking his head. "Come on, let's get out of here. Before you break something else."

There was nothing in this new, crazy world she wanted more than to get the heck out of this stupid ball. But men kept sweeping her up into dances! Back and forth, side to side, broken toes, bruised ankles. She was started to get dizzy. If she hadn't already fainted? She would have faked one just to get them to put her down.

Finally, she begged off a third dance with an overweight Baron named Hans and went to get herself some punch. It was then that she heard Jacob's voice. Whipping around, the jeweled hair piece stuck in her hair flew out of her hair and into the punch bowl with a splash. Bella would have apologized and fished it back out had she not been gawking at her friend.

"Jacob?? You're...HUGE!"

Jacob laughed at Bella's observation, but inside his heart sank. She was Bella alright, but if she was reacting this way to his growth spurt it only meant one thing. She wasn't his Bella. Just like Edward wasn't her Edward. Something to do with this crazy place. Still though, she was Bella. And he was Jacob. No matter what version of them it was. Which was something he really didn't get. He got a lot of things, vampires, werewolves, treaties...but he really didn't get the whole versions thing.

"Kinda had a growth spurt." He grinned at her crookedly, tilting his head as he looked down at her. "Keep forgetting that this you doesn't know that. Place is really screwed up ya know. I don't get it. Don't get any of it. But whatever." He shrugged. "I'm Jacob and you're Bella and that's all that matters right?"

Looking around, he arched a brow at the elegant decorations. "What are you even doing in a place like this?" He asked, amusement dancing in his eyes as he looked back at his friend. "Somebody's got a good sense of humor apparently."

A growth spurt? He looked like a tree! A huge, Jacob tree. She coughed a little as she finally remembered her control and she looked him up and down.

"Some growth spurt." His other words caught up with her. Didn't know what? It hadn't been that long since they saw each other. Or was he like Edward and a different version of her Jacob? This place was so horrible

"A sick sense of humor is more like it."

Her face maintained it's control, but she hiked her dress out of the way and ran to him, bringing her arms around him. HOLY CROW! He was hot! Really, really hot. She jumped back from him.

"Are you on fire? Do I need to find something to douse you with? I'd use the punch bowl, but the rum in it would probably just flambe you."

"Or that." Jacob replied when she pointed out that someone had a sick sense of humor as opposed to a good one. He watched her, wondering what was going through her head. Probably thinking about his so called growth spurt. Since this wasn't his Bella, that meant she didn't know about the reason behind his sudden change. He would have to tell her, there was no way around it.

Before he could say another word, she launched herself at him, her arms wrapping around him which made his smile grow even bigger. But just as quick as she hugged him, she jumped back. Right. His body temperature. Yeah, whole lotta changes.

A hefty laugh rose up out of him and again he just shook his head at her. He couldn't help it, she amused him. And truth be known, he found it completely adorable. Not that he'd ever say it like that. But he did. "Guess you won't have to ever worry about getting cold huh?" He joked, but the look on her face told him she was seriously confused. "You wanna get outta here?" He said, jutting his thumb over his shoulder towards the door. "Then maybe I can try to explain some stuff. Might help you understand things."

"I guess not."

Her eyes swept over him again, taking in every change, every facet of him. Even his laugh was different. Instead of the sweet laugh she'd once heard from him, this was a man's laugh. This could not have happened in the two months or so since she'd last seen him. No way. Suddenly she wanted nothing more than to get out of here and figure out just what was going on.

In the corner of her eye, she spotted Hans giving Jacob the evil eye and looking like he wanted to ask her to dance again. Yeah, they needed to get out of there...NOW. Quickly, she moved next to Jacob and slipped her hand into the crook of his arm.

"Yes. Get me out of here. Please." She'd said it to him before, but it bared repeating. She wanted out of here.

Jacob glanced over Bella's shoulder, seeing a very annoyed looking guy glaring at them. He wondered what the story was there, but didn't dare mention it. Instead, he refocused his gaze on Bella's face. Until she grabbed his arm, begging him again to get her out of there.

He laughed again, patting her hand that was so small in comparison to his. "Okay, okay." He said, shaking his head. "Come on Bells. Let's get back to that portkey and then to New York. We should probably get you some new clothes too while you're at it. You and formal wear don't really get along too well." He teased as they walked out of the building and started back down the street where the portkey was.

"This place is pretty weird huh?" He asked, smiling down at her and not missing the fact that she was still holding onto his arm. "At least we both ended up here though. Could've been worse I guess."
