Who: Jamie Fraser, OPEN to anyone who wants to help a poor confused, authentic Scottish Highlander.
What: Arrival
Where: London
When: Today
Warnings: Scottish dialect and attitude. XD

He hit the ground with a resounding thud, bare legs cooled by the mud. He frowned, and heaved himself up. He didn't bother to wipe himself off, though he raised each leg in turn and shook off the excess mud.

Bright eyes squinted in the sun, as he took in the landscape. The storm had come up suddenly, and though the winds hadn't seemed terribly violent, he'd instantly felt something was amiss.

He wasn't entirely sure where he was. Big, gnarled and calloused hands smoothed down the front of his shirt, the pleats of his kilt. At least he seemed to have all his parts, which was no small relief at the moment.

"Sassenach?" he murmured, twisting his mouth with the thought that somehow he must have traveled through time, as Claire had done. He hadn't been near the stones, he wasn't even in Scotland. Had the storm pushed him through some other crack in time? He'd felt nothing when he'd touched the stones, so long ago.

He turned slowly at the sound of an animal approaching. Only a dog, he thought based on the thud-plod-thud of it's step. Only a dog could be as dangerous as a bear, and he was careful to minimize his movements as he turned toward the sound. The beast padded right up to him, circled and sniffed, then trotted off in the direction he'd come.

Jamie Fraser let out a breath, and started moving himself. Before long, the ground under his feet changed, and in the distance he could see moving things, whizzing at great speeds on the ground. The whir of some godless thing above him had him looking up to the sky at what he knew must be the airplanes Claire had spoken of. And the great whizzing things ahead must be automobiles.

He had traveled through time and space, into Claire's modern world. The question then, was where in the bloody hell was Claire? There was no fear, only curiosity (and perhaps concern, for Claire's whereabouts) as he stood and looked around at the marvels of the world.
