Who: Book and whoever stops by (open post folks)
Where: Book's apartment in London
When: over the weekend
Why: Book takes in strays
Book had finished with his morning run and had returned home to put the kettle on, going through stretches as he did so, just to make sure he didn't cramp up, he checked the voicemail, unsurprised to find it empty, as usual, and got mugs down from the cabinet, one for himself and one just in case.
The apartment was little more than a converted storage area, and the best that could be said for it was that it was aboveground and out of the weather, and aside from that Book did quite well with space heaters and blankets, he was used to this kind of thing at least, the Abbey had always been drafty.
Most of the furniture, the couch and the three chairs were all second or third hand at least, and comfortably worn, low-slung and each with a fuzzy blanket and a couple throw pillows.

Who: Henn and Miniver (and the snakes)
Where: The Snake Pit in New Orleans, after hours
Warnings: uh, maybe some drinking and babytalk at the snakes, can't think of anything else.
It had actually taken Henn a little closer to half an hour to actually get there, she sometimes forgot just how long goodbyes and 'I'll be back soon's could take.
The Snake Pit was a quiet enough bar even when it was open, and if it weren't for the sign over the door and the large-numbered address, it would've been near-impossible to find when it was closed, given as how it was a door between two storefronts, the bar itself taking up what had once been storage space beneath them. It was comfortably warm, thanks to needing to keep the place the right temperature for the snakes, and Henn was sitting on one of the tables, giggling at Herbie the red-tailed boa as he attempted to climb down her shirt.
