Cassidy had popped in the DVD and tossed down the beanbag chairs, even though the perfectly comfortable couch was right behind them. The house was somehow more quiet without Soren around, even though Soren was naturally a quiet kind of guy anyway. The place was impeccably clean by the time Henn showed up, save for a small stack of papers and letters and things on the dining room table.
Cass was out on the patio which wrapped around the beach house, looking out at the ocean, liking how the moon reflected against the waves. |

It had been a long, hard day. A routine examination had gone horribly awry. Belle trudged into the apartment, still shell shocked from the news. There was no possible way. Okay, so there was a minute possibility, but really, who ever took that into account?
She sat heavily on the couch, and curled her knees up under her chin, too surprised to do much else. |
