She'd been assured that the little village in Wales wasn't anything over the top, and as she shook herself free of the portkey's vertigo, she decided she'd been right. She and Atton were standing in front of the Hotel, a small, cottage-looking affair. Katya would have worried it was too low-tech for them, but well, maybe they could use low-tech. It was all right.
The woman at the desk smiled and pointed them toward the biggest room, up the stairs. Katya stopped at the top of the staircase, though, waiting for Atton. "You have the suitcase, babe?" She couldn't stop smiling; couldn't stop looking at the pretty ring on her hand. And now they had a whole week to themselves. |
