God nearly sighed as she felt the waves of desperation to understand roll off of Sam. This man was clearly in deep turmoil over his existence, and try as she might, she couldn't fully comprehend what he was going through. This world was so much different in comparison to what she was used to. She knew that she was both the Christian's definition of God and a fictional character all in one. She was aware that she had come through the vortex because she was from a movie. But that didn't negate the fact that fictional or not, she was still God. And as such should have the power and premonition and omniscience to be prepared for anything.
As it was, she felt his pain more clearly than she expected to, what with him not being as human as most of the people inhabiting the planet. She figured that could only mean that even though his body and mind were made up of parts and pieces instead of blood and flesh, his soul and spirit remained wholly human. She told him as such.
"You may not feel like it now, and it's all on you whether you ever will, but you are still human, Sam. You're alive, your spirit is still present, even if your body is no longer flesh and blood completely. Your soul still clings to life, even if your body did not. It's why you were able to survive after your heart and mind suffered death, why you were able to be brought back to life. If it's help feeling more alive you seek, I can assist you with that. Rather like Data after his emotion chip, but with better technology. I am God after all."
Her hand cupped his cheek again, but she limited the contact to that, not wanting to make him any more skittish than he already was. She wanted nothing more than to gather him up in her arms and make all his worries go away, not unlike a compassionate mother to her children. Sam was still her child, no matter how many of his parts were not in his original design, and she loved him just the same.
