Jack was sitting in the living room, humming to himself and looking at the boards, thinking how lovely his evening with the fellows had been last night-lovely was the pg thought he had amongst many others-when he heard an odd noise.

Odd was an understatement, really, as it was a big 'Fuck off' noise on the rooftop and Jack stared up at the ceiling for a moment before deciding to...Stare some more. The noise had stopped and there was silence. It was quiet.

"Too quiet," Jack said out loud, feeling like a modern John Wayne or just a scrawny wannabe-whatever. Getting up, he kept his eyes to the ceiling as he walked towards the front hall and the stairs leading up to the roof. Might as well check, he figured. Because he had seen enough scary movies to know that one had to have a camera and a high pitched voice to die when going to check odd noises. And one out of two did not mean death.

"Wish I had a bloody camera," He muttered, shaking his head as he came up the stairs, "Could catch my last moments...And my hair is looking so fabulous today," With that he stepped out onto the roof and promptly gaped.

As was only proper when spotting a spaceship.

"Good Lord."

	"No, just me," Jack said, leaning against the wall next to the door Jack had just came from; he was sure he was going to be ignored in favor of the ship, so he didn't even bother trying to hide. "What can I say, I'm a fan of the dramatic entrance." Smirking, he shoved off the wall, offering out a hand to the other man. "At least it wasn't actually a cheap line, right?" 	Jack started at the sound of the voice and laughed in surprise, "Tell me you're Jack, or else some other man with a spaceship has come 'round for a visit and I just don't think I can schedule you both in," He took the hand with a grin, "Jack Dent." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Captain Jack Harkness, at your service," Jack nodded and shook his hand firmly, stepping a little closer.

Pleasantries taken care of, he walked a little closer to the edge of the roof, looking around. "'Can't say I've ever been this far west before... interesting town," It was smalltalk, something that wasn't 'look at the size of my ship'. He was at least trying to be polite.

"Oh, I forgot the 'Captain' bit," Jack eyed the man's outfit with a smirk, laughing slightly when the man moved closer.

He had to snort at the man's comment about the town, "Please. I know you're thinking we should make small talk before I hop this big boy, but it's just not happening. Big bloody ship on my roof and you want to talk scenary. Really," He 'tsk'ed and shook his head, crossing his arms, "Going to have to do better than that to distract me, dear."

Jack looked over his shoulder with a small smile, "At least it was the truth. All the planets, all the galaxies, and yet Earth is always the home of the most random sights possible. It's pretty impressive." Still, he turned away from the ledge, heading back towards Jack.

"If that's what you want, though," He pressed a few buttons on the watch-like device on his wrist, and a rather cliche' hatch opened on the side of the ship, providing a walkway inside. "After you,"

"Don't let me stop you from sight seeing dear, I can wait," Jack shook his head with a tiny smile. Really, some people marvelled at the strangest things (thought the man with the Cary Grant fetish).

"It is," He said firmly to the man's words, watching the wrist band button pushing with interest then looking at the ship, "Look at that. I've an urge to phone home!" He giggled, knowing the other man had probably heard that joke at least twice, and headed towards the walkway, "Mother always said not to go into spaceships with strange men," He noted as he headed inside, "Mind, I think she thought she was being glib, and she certainly wasn't saying it for my own good. So here we are!"

	"Don't worry, if I were going to ambush you, letting you inside my baby wouldn't exactly be step one of my devious plan," He noted as he followed Jack in, heading over to take a seat at the controls, staying out of Jack's way as he looked around. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"You know, I always thought if I were to ambush someone, I'd wear something fabulous," Jack said, his voice slightly distant as he looked around the ship, a thoughtful little smile on his face as his hand sort of drifted over buttons and wires and he was generally inquisitive, "If only because I'd want to add that extra 'Wow!' to it all. 'Goodness, I was just ambushed by that man,' they'd say, 'And my, didn't he look fabulous!'" And odd thought, but then again, he was in a space ship. Jack felt justified.

	Jack looked jokingly offended. "Are you saying I don't look fabulous?" He added a laugh at the end, just so his new passenger was sure to know he was kidding. "Are you saying this is an ambush?" Jack joked right back, grinning over his shoulder at the man before turning back to looking at the controls, "I was naked as well, dear, I know how it goes," He looked around a bit more before finally walking over to where the man was sitting, "So. Tell me all about it, hot stuff, what's this about?" He waved his hand in a general little circle, hoping Jack got that meant the ship, him being in the ship, how he got the ship, where he was from, what he had done, etc. etc.. The basics.

"The short version? I'm a time traveler, who used to work for an agency that stopped interchronospatial crime. Once that got boring, I started doing a little... freelance work. Ended up meeting a... interesting individual named the Doctor, had a few laughs, died, and then found my ass here. Met up with said Doctor again, had him take me out to find a ship-" The mention was accompanied by an affectionate brush of hand over the controls, "And... I've been living life ever since."

Taking this in stride, Jack nodded a bit, rather lost over the word 'interchronospatial' but deciding it was best for all if he let it go. It took him a moment to sort what was said out. The man had died, fancy that. Taking a breath, he finally spoke.

"So, can we go for a spin?" He asked, giving a grin. The rest could be sorted while sitting down with a cup of tea. Chit chat was really for when one wasn't standing in a space ship, Jack figured.

"Oh Lord, a when?" Jack moved to leaning against the back of the chair, looking down at what the man was doing, "Oh, I don't know. Anywhere. Any time," He was out right beaming as he bit his lip and patted the man on the arm with his excitement, "Oh, oh, could we go to the Winterland Ballroom, San Fransico, April 12, 1968? Pretty please?" He was near bouncing with his date chosen.

Jack looked over at his passenger as he carefully got the ship in the air, trying not to jar him too much. "Well, I hardly look... well, I lost count somewhere in the 120s. Point is, it's one of those necessary 'don't end the word' questions we have to ask."

He wasn't paying much attention to the window in front of them, where currently a hell of a lot of clouds were flying by, rather fast.

	"I'm sorry, the three-millenium gap makes things a little disparate. I'm positive you can educate me, though." Jack smiled, turning back to the sights as they broke atmosphere and he suddenly had to make a few adjustments, to get them started on the 'when' part of their journey. Laughing, Jack shook his head, watching the hands move to his knee, which he tittered at softly as he glanced at Jack's face, smiling when he realized he had been caught, "Lovely hands, dear," He commented, trying to be casual and not creepy, "Wonderfully..." He trailed off, sighing with a chuckle, "I've got nothing, darling, I was being a creep and watching your hands. There it is. Do with it what you will."

	"I'm flattered- in outer space, traveling through time, and you'd rather look at my hands," He nodded toward the 'window' of sorts in front of them, currently showing a vast, spinning landscape that looked like a fairly expensive effect out of a science fiction movie.
