"Right now, I'm just trying to eat enough to keep food down."
She didn't really mean to, but she could feel his doubt, the ingrained habit to call her a witch. she waited until he was done with the autograph to finish talking.
"It's ok if you think I'm crazy, that I'm making it up. When I was there, I thought I was loosing my mind, that maybe I'd hit my head a little too hard. But it was all to real. They didn't call it 'Mortal Kombat' just for the name. At the end of each fight, the winner was given the option of killing his opponent, and the fighters from Outworld were hardly squeemish about it. If that wasn't enough..." She took a deep breath. "Shang Tsung would actually steal the soul of the loser. That's how he fulled his power..I actually saw him steal souls, and I couldn't do anything or I would've been killed too, and I had to keep myself alive to save my men."
"At the start of the tournament, there were about fifty competetors from the Earth realm, by near end, there was only myself and six remaining men." her voice lowered. "I was finally allowed to fight against Kano, but the fight ended up in a draw. I defeated him, but during the fight he stabbed me in the shoulder and I'd lost too much blood to go on. So we were both disqualified, I was allowed to live, but he had my men killed before me." she laughed bitterly. "But he was generious enough that he allowed them to pass on."
"Longer story short, we managed to win the tournament. One of the survivors, a Shaolin Monk by the name of Liu Kang, defeated Tsung's Champion, Goro before defeating Shang Tsung himself."
"I know this is long, but how we met, it would just confuse you if I were to not tell the back story." She went back to her salad.
