It had been a long day for Winston. He was called into work on a day off to help cover a story that needed to be published in Monday's paper. After a long, grueling 6 hour shift he was finally allowed to return home, feeling exhausted. However, he returned home to find the apartment empty except for Poe who was asleep in his cage. Winston silently wished to himself that O'Brien was home but wishes didn't come true in the real world. Removing his shoes he headed into the bathroom, allowing himself a warm shower, after which he felt better.

With that complete he headed into the kitchen to make himself a grilled cheese sandwich before he settled down at the table with his journal, a pen, and the sandwich. Opening the black, leather bound journal he dated the top of the page and began writing - every now and again taking a bite of his sandwich.

O'Brien was dealing with the duties of a landlord-in other words he had to see to a lease signing, and was running late because of it. He walked into the apartment with a thoughtful scowl on his face and went straight for the cupboards in the kitchen to get down a glass and have a drink of water. He gave a nod to Winston as he walked by, a slight smile. He was entirely more relaxed in a way that he had never seemed before, not when he was working under Big Brother. Now he was free and it was showing in his face, in how he carried himself.

"Hello, Winston, and how are you this evening?"

	Winston was up on his feet when O'Brien came in. The man was often eager and desperate for affection - pretty much like a puppy - and followed after O'Brien to the cupboards. "Tired." He answered honestly, watching his lover, trying not to shift from foot to foot too much as he waited for a chance to hug his lover. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Winston moved to settle into O'Brien's arms, his own wrapped around the other man's waist. With a little content sigh he rested his head on the other man's shoulder, nuzzling it. 	He had to get a book first before walking over to the couch, sitting down with ease before he allowed Winston to sit as he please. He had chosen Dostoevsky's The Idiot since he had started an attempt at the classics recently that he thought Winston might enjoy.
