Anne did her best to look attentive when he mentioned grinding the gears, but really all it produced was a wince. That didn't sound good at all. The smile was right back on her face at his offer, though, and she nodded.
"Mmmkay," she agreed, not exactly pulling Sam toward the shiny red car, but maybe leaning in that direction herself. Once he was heading that way, she dropped his hand and put it on the car door. "It's such a NICE looking car. I don't want to ruin one of yours, either."
Popping open the door, she slid inside, daintily crossing one leg over the other. Goddess or no, her ego was still in place. Goddess or no, she couldn't remember being quite this happy. Ever.
