"Me, too. Me, too." Anne was sorry for everything she'd done that was wrong. Closing her eyes, she reveled in his hugs and his kisses. How she could have ever hurt him, accidentally or not, was beyond her.
Ready to follow him wherever he wanted to go for the rest of time, Anne nodded again and allowed him to carry her. It dawned on her that she couldn't intentionally make herself lighter or easier to carry. Instead, she clung to him, pressing kisses to his face as they went.
Inside his room, Anne took the opportunity to stand on her own two feet. She reached up to remove the tiara and let her hair down, dropping the heavy thing onto his chair. Turning to look at him, she wiped her cheeks with both hands and gave him a shaky smile. "I missed you, I love you and-" And there were more tears. "I'd do anything for you."
