Frank smiled as he caught sight of her from the distance. She was beautiful, there was no better word to describe her standing there in an elegant gown. The top hat and tie made his smile go a little softer; they were touches that were so distinctly Alice. No other woman would think something up and wear them so well. It would have been silly on them. On Alice it looked sweet.
When she got to talking, Frank simply listened, surprised. He hadn't expected this at all. It just went to figure. Frank had gone through the trouble of picking out the ring and figuring out a nice speech, and Alice had beaten him to the punch.
He was smiling brightly as he took her hands in his. "I-" He chuckled softly. "Yes. I want to marry you, too." And he began to laugh a warm, throaty laugh. The weight of the ring box in his pocket seemed to lighten.
