Henry had been in the office for the past several hours, getting things ready and making phone calls. He needed to make sure the cops would stay away from the beach. If this was a full-on move by the Deep Ones, there would be a lot of fighting, and not the kind that the cops would believe or help with. The last thing he needed was to finish a fight with the Deep Ones and then get arrested for possession of high explosives or something like that. Luckily, he'd made a few friends in various city police departments, guys who know a thing or two about "unusual cases" and knew that sometimes things had to be "overlooked" so the real good could get done.
That done, he set about talking to the other contacts he'd established. He was a little ashamed of some of them (his contact in the Bloods, for instance) but he knew they could get him what he needed and do it in a way that wouldn't show up on any records. He owned a powerful revolved that was on the books, and through his contact he was able to acquire an assault rifle and two belts of grenades. By the time anyone got there, the assault rifle would be leaning against his desk, and the belts of grenades would be sitting on it. Both were delivered outside the door. Henry didn't want any of these sorts of contacts actually getting a look inside his office, the same way they didn't want him knowing a damn thing about their own operations. The only reason he was even able to get them to work with him was because these people knew things, saw things, and experienced things out on the streets at night that people in better situations didn't.
After all his preparations were complete, Henry just sat at his desk and waited for the others to arrive, preparing the briefing he would be giving them in his head.
