It was funny how the world worked. As hard as Carrie had tried to keep out of Juno's situation, it seemed like fate wouldn't allow it. So Juno was in midtown, in a Barnes and Noble of all places, going into labor and Carrie was breaking all known laws of the road to get to her. Because Carrie couldn't let some sixteen year old with her face go through birthing alone. No matter how bad it scared her.

She'd been mid-patrol when she'd gotten the message, so Carrie was decked out in Robin-garb when she walked into the hospital. Cape flowing boldly behind her, people stopped to stare, but Carrie ignored it. Walking over to a desk, she removed her mask and eyed a nurse.

"My twin sister just went into labor. I need to see her," Carrie lied. She figured this would be the fastest way to Juno. "Her name's Juno MacGuff." She tapped her gloved fingers against the desk and waited impatiently as the nurse gave her the room. "Thanks," Carrie shouted, taking off toward the room.

Juno meanwhile was screaming at the nurses to give her one of those freaking spinal taps. She was in a lot of pain. This baby was ready to come. But they didn't want to give her anything until they knew she was okay, because she kinda wasn't feeling great. And no wonder, she was about to have a freaking baby!

A baby that she would have to take care of. God her life sucked sometimes. She was going to be a crap mother, she didn't know anything about raising a kid. Hell, she'd forgotten to give her own sister her meds once.

She was screaming at a doctor when Carrie burst into the room.

The doctor did a double take. Under different circumstances, Carrie would have laughed. As it was, she waved awkwardly at the doc and explained, "I'm her sister." When he turned away, Carrie gave Juno a look that plainly said, play along or I will stab you.

The nurses forced Carrie into a blue smock in order to cover her clothes and prevent germs from spreading. And then Carrie moved to Juno's side. The girl looked miserable. Carrie couldn't really blame her. She was about to... give birth. There was a small part of Carrie that wanted to run from the room but the rest of her, the part that had been trained to handle criminals and death and all manner of things made her stay.

"You okay?" She asked Juno, full aware of the answer to the question.

	"I don't know..." Juno said. "I mean...I wasn't gonna keep it, Vanessa was. I never bothered to learn any of this." But Vanessa wasn't here, so Juno would have to learn fast. They were telling her to push, and she was trying, but it all felt really strange to her. Why did it have to happen to her? The first time that she had sex with Paulie Bleeker... 	Juno stirred a little in the bed, she still felt kind of funny but she was okay. And suddenly not as big as a house, which was nice...but that also meant that ticking time bomb of responsibility was here. She smiled at Carrie, glad someone had stayed with her. "Thanks." 	Carrie shrugged off the thank-you. "It's not a big deal. Anybody'd have done it." This wasn't true and Carrie knew it. Sometimes she hated being a good guy. She paced quietly for a minute before jumping back into the seat. "Can I ask something?" Carrie didn't wait for a response, "How are you not completely melting down right now?" 	"That's really great of you..." Juno said. She wanted to turn her down, and if she was on her own with no kid, she probably would have, but Juno had to look out for more than herself right now.
