Owen wandered into the living room. He'd gone into the bedroom to 'change' into some other clothes. And he'd used the time to try to calm down before he returned to her. He shouldn't have hacked into her conversation with Jack. He shouldn't have stuck his nose in where it didn't belong. But it was so hard to keep it to himself when she looked so depressed and emo just staring at a computer screen.

He too was glad that Rain was out at Kit's. Something about taking her flying or some shit. He couldn't remember to be honest, just that Kit had picked her up, so they were alone. Part of the reason that Owen was so mad was because Jack was so right. He was a doctor as well as her fiancee. He should have seen the signs. He should have seen what was going on and he didn't.

He walked into the living room and stood beside her, reaching to take her hand in his. "Hey," he murmured, staring at her. He didn't even know where to begin.
