"No, you didn't do anything wrong," he said, sighing on his end. "This is completely a 'it's not you, it's me' moment here, really." He'd stopped in front of a particular jeweler and stared into the glass at a princess cut diamond engagement ring, his fingertip tracing over the reflection of it as he spoke. "I miss you, too. It's just...I guess I had my heart set on the baby and..." he didn't really want to finish that sentence.
"Do you want to go shopping with me? I'm currently staring at a gorgeous diamond that could have your name on it." Which this was turning into more of a distraction than anything. And he wouldn't mind her company at all. It'd probably make him feel better at the present moment.
