Sonya cradles her chin in her palm, thinking a moment before sitting up straight.
"You're right, there's nothing forcing me to stay married, but," she pauses, she's mostly thinking out loud at the moment. "There's nothing that's forcing me to separate from you either. You were right, this isn't the sort of marriage I'd imagine myself to be in, but at the same time: I never imagined myself to making it fighting to save my realm, never imagined that I would be meeting sorcerers, gods, demons, and the like nor have I ever imagined myself learning sorcery. And yet I have."
"Truthfully, Shang, deep down, part of me was flattered when you first asked me. Under different circumstances, I would've said possibly said 'yes' in the first place-had you not been a cruel, soul sucking, evil bastard."
"As for this place.." She smiles, possibly the most relaxed smile he's ever seen on her. "well, we're both here, and I've told you before that being married to you is never dull, it might not be ideal, but then again life's never ideal." She actually reaches over the table and touches his hand. "In short, we made it this far, and according to you, we even made it far enough to conceive. I see no reason why we still try again, hell..think of this as a means of starting over without having to worry about a kingdom or realm."
She takes a deep breath and lets it out. Damn, she hadn't made a speech that long since she was queen.
