Her heart was thumping in her throat. She was sure that this was one of those rare situations where telling the truth was probably a bad idea, but she wasn't a liar, couldn't even fib properly. She was pacing in the toy store while she waited, sending the employees scattering. She worried her lip as she walked, looking up every time the door opened, hoping it was him.

	Marius slid into the shop, a large bouquet of flowers in hand. They were elegant long stem roses in the darkest red he could find. He figured they would go over better than a bunch of daisies. "Are you alright?" He asked, when he saw her, suddenly a little nervous. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Once the door opened and it was actually him at the door, her eyes lit up and she went over to take him by the hand and guide him up the stairs to her flat. "I'm fine," she murmured, waiting until they got into her place to speak.

She took the flowers from him and beamed. "I've not gotten flowers very much, and these are... they're beautiful. Thank you." Lulu went to the kitchen to put them into water. When she got back into the living room, she sat down on a couch and kicked off her heels.

"I've... I'd like to talk. If that's okay." She put a hand on her forehead, chuckling. "I feel like an idiot."

She bit her lip and closed her eyes. It would be a lot easier to tell him what she wanted to say without looking at him.

"I ... couldn't stop thinking about you. But I wanted to be sure it was for the right reasons. I haven't... I haven't done that in so long, and I wanted to make sure I couldn't get you out of my head for the right reasons. So I ... with someone else. But afterward, I thought about you." She shrugged one shoulder, hoping that didn't sound horrible.

"It sounds terrible, but because I could with someone else and still think of you, I'd like to try something. With just you."

Marcus listened, and nodded, slowly. "So you had sex with another guy? That's fine, you know. Really."

He smiled a little. "I'm glad that you want me for more than sex, though. What would you like to try?"

He was being honest and open. The idea of Lulu being with another man was kind of irksome, but he knew he had no right to put any kind of holds on her. Beside, it would be better for her to be sue about what she wanted, so he couldn't feel too bad. Sure, he was a little confused, but that was his normal state of mind at the moment.

"I did. I didn't want to have a relationship with you and break your heart because I simply wanted you physically. I figured if I had someone else physically and I still wanted you, it was you I truly wanted."

She smiled and reached out to take his hand. "I know that I can't... not again be with someone who isn't you. Not until I figure out what this is. I'd like to try anything you're up to trying."

	Lulu squeezed his hand in return, nodding to his statements. "If you want to." She bit her lip, chuckling. He thought for a second. "I like them both. And I was born on the border of two countries. Marius was my grandfather's name, but he was my maternal grandfather. Mom was kind of out of it when the American staff came to name me, and Dad forgot what they were going to name me. When mom was awake, she grabbed a Canadian doctor and demanded that I get a birth certificate right then. So in Canada I'm Marius, and in America I'm Marcus, and in Genosha, which is where we live in my time, I have a slash between them."

He pulled out his wallet, showing her his driver'
s license. "Check it out."

	She smiled. "I showed aptitude with black magic when I was a child. My parents were killed, and I wanted to help kill that which had killed them. So, I trained and studied." It was a simple story, but she was more amused at Marcus liking what she was doing to his hand. She continued, lightly using her fingernails. "I like what you're doing to my hair. S'nice." Lulu practically purred, nuzzling into him like a large cat. "Mmmm. Um. Black magic is anything offensive, really - I can manipulate the elements, as well as inflict poison and cause explosions. And yes, there are zombies, but I don't create them. They're not really... zombies. They're people who haven't been sent to the Farplane - our land of the dead."

She stretched out on the couch, nuzzling into his shoulder more.

He shrugged. "Pretty normal, I guess. I mean, I grew up with my parents and my twin sister, we had a house in Genosha. It's not a great country, but my parents worked really hard all their lives to make it better. They went from being super rich to working for a living, and neither one seems to be bothered much by it. Mom ran a chain of hotels, and Dad owned a couple construction crews. Which were kinda busy, since we'd have someone come in and claim Genosha, from time to time, and there'd be a power struggle for it."

He took a breath, kissing her softly, holding her a little closer. "That's why I came back. If they do things differently now, it could all work out better for us all."

Even if he couldn't fix Genosha, he was glad he'd gone back in time, now.
