"No guessing, Solvei," he told her, smiling a little. "You did the best you could. Sometimes there's nothing you can do about the way things play out." It was the unfortunate truth that sometimes, no matter how hard you work, you just couldn't save everyone. He'd even tried with Walter, tried to save that kernel of goodness in him.
"Maybe I'll start driving around at night with a Range Rover." He grinned for a moment before chuckling a little at the thought. He wondered what kind of headline that would make the next day. Or better yet, explaining to the mechanics why there's always some strange dents and goo in the grille!
"Hmm..." Central Park did sound exciting, and possibly the better choice if Solvei wanted to avoid any more Sre'Taedrik demons. There was definitely the big problem of it being an oft-used public place, and he could just imagine it if someone had a camera phone and snapped a picture of the two of them fighting people. Either they'd think it was some new movie being filmed on the sly, or something even worse. It would also publicize Solvei's presence, which seemed like something she was trying to avoid. "Tell you what, either the Cove or Central Park. You decide."
