Standing outside with Sol, lips were still curled into a smile, eyes focused on her, and nothing else. It was funny, the way other people made you forget all the problems you had been facing, as if they, at least for the moment, insignificant. Both the children and Solvei had that power in regards to his life. They were in no danger now, not that they ever had been, but no need to worry about a nurse making their rounds, finding they had slipped into the children's ward. Still, he hadn't let go of her hand, and he hadn't given much thought to doing so. "I just like making them smile, s'all."
The change in her expression wasn't lost on him, he saw the serious look that came into her eyes, which made hims straightened up a little. "I wish I could tell you that wasn't possible, that their parents are here for sure.." He let his voice trail off, it was a definite possibility that the kids had been taken here by the vortex, which didn't bode well. "But if they are here, we'll find them. I can promise that."
