Candy grinned, feeling more at ease when she noticed that he was nervous as well. She blinked at his story about finding money in his pockets, and cocked her head to the side. "Have you checked online? If you had a credit card, you could look up the name."
She sighed as he told his story, reaching out to take his hand back again, if only for a moment. "My mother taught me. When my dad passed out after his second six-pack or so, she'd try to get us all out of the house. Dad was at his worst if someone woke him up." She gave him a tiny knowing smile of commiseration, and let go of his hand again.
She looked through her bag, making sure that the live worms hadn't gotten into the snacks, and she laughed out loud as she zipped the bag again. "Well, as long as Jaws doesn't bite me, I''m fine with it." His compliment caught her off guard, and she flushed bright red. "Oh. Um. Thank you. You do too, you know. Not that it matters, but. Yes."
