"Just put pressure on the wound, don't move your shoulder around whatever you do. Keep it as still as possible.." she told him and then went back over to the other man. She took the case of things from the EMTs and then finally got out an actual scalpel that was clean, alcohol swabs and a chest tube.
First she had to intubate him, which meant opening him up and then sticking the laryngoscope into his airway so that she could get a better view and then took one of the tubes and slid it down his throat. "Okay.. bag him.." she told the EMT, and then went back to his stomach.
She went to close up the incision that she'd made as quickly as possible. "He's going to need surgery."
"They've already been called and are on standby.." the EMT told her, and then helped get the guy into a stretcher so they could get him in the ambulance.
"We'll be right behind you.."
"Are you sure you don't want to ride with us?"
"I'm sure.." she waved them off and then went back over to Tony. "Okay time to go.. here.." she put his arm around her shoulders. "On three okay? Unless you'd rather get into the ambulance."
