WHO: Steve Rogers, Tony Stark
WHAT: Meeting again for the first time.
WHERE: The halls.
WHEN: September 14th
RATING: Low
Having met Jan had been something of a blessing and a curse — because it had been something of a blessing to not feel so incredibly alone after waking up in such a state of confusion (which didn’t seem to be fading as time went on), but on the other hand — well. Even with a second person, he hadn’t been able to uncover any answers about who they were or why they were here. Or where here was.
And they’d done quite a bit of exploring, as it was. But a swimming pool in outer space only made the hair on the back of Anthony’s neck raise with a feeling of dread he simply couldn’t have explained even if he’d wanted to. They’d left there post-haste. The library had been less off putting despite the fact that it was vast in unexpected ways, but neither of them had the time to go through every single book in search for answers. Not yet, anyway.
After that — well. They’d wandered. For what felt like hours, but it was hard to tell, even with a phone that told the time. Which was strange, and Tony was feeling tired and irritated by the time that they found the hallway with rooms again. He promised to call or text Jan soon, and left her off at her room before heading off to his own.
Which was apparently another million miles away. Or two minutes. Hell, he and Jan might very well have been next door neighbors for all Tony could figure out.
But they definitely weren’t across the hall neighbors, because as soon as Tony placed his hand over the little coded panel for entrance (and he was going to take that apart soon, he didn’t know why, but the itch was loud in the back of his head), the door across from him swished open. He didn’t really think there was anything wrong in turning around defensively at the noise. Not everyone could be Janey Van Dyne, with an easy smile or an innocent air. Someone here had to be to blame for — whatever it was that was going on.
