He had done something foolish, of which he knew, and it was only becoming a realization the longer the time passed. His eyes remained shut and she continued to yell, coming closer to him. He listened to the sound of her steps, of her voice and of the pain in her.
The truth was, she was right. He should have talked to her. She was the sounding board. She was the one who balanced him and kept him in check. Maybe that was why he hadn't. He had been so convinced...in those fleeting moments...that he was doing the right thing...that he didn't want her to change his mind.
He hadn't thought to trust letting her in.
