He wasn't intending to flirt with her, no. He was barely even in character, just in disguise, making up a few details about his life - as few as possible. Eventually, he hoped he'd be able to tell her his full name, and the truth, and he wanted there to be as few lies as possible for her to forgive when that happened. And the truth was that Su was waiting for him back at their hideout. Well, perhaps not literally sitting around and waiting, but that wasn't the point.
