"It would be quite unfortunate," he agreed. He smiled just a little at the last part before adding, "Even more unfortunate." He nodded a little at her words. "I suppose we cannot, but we can at least be there for each other when something happens." That was how it worked, correct? He thought so, but he could be very wrong.
There was a small smile as he listened to her talk. "I believe she did very much enjoy books. It is from her I learned to read. She taught us from the beginning, even when we had no idea what she was talking about." A slight sadness reached his eyes but he smiled a little, allowing himself to move a little closer. "I think she would like you," he said softly.
