Bayleigh was not having it. She was not going to let Clara ruin her good mood. Her father had summoned her to the ministry. Granted, she wasn't going till morning, but it had brought her out of her aggravated slump. At least for a few brief moments as she stared down at her journal in glee.
Then Clara began her usual pestering. She refused to listen this evening. Her mother was lucky that she hadn't snapped and done away with her by now. The only real reason she hadn't was the fact her mother was so vastly in the public eye. Or at least, that was the reason she told herself.
The other reason was, no matter how much the woman pissed her off, there was still a little girl deep down inside of Bayleigh who loved her mother. Just not to the level that she loved her father, as a little girl or as an adult.
It was past midnight and Bayleigh had a little under twelve hours until her meeting at the ministry. Deciding she would visit someone, she wandered the steets of London for a time until her mind wandered to Millie. Millie was older then her, but was always a matter of curiosity in Bayleigh's eyes. The girl was also one of the few worth speaking to even after her graduation. Not to mention, Bay missed staring into the woman's lovely eyes, even if she didn't notice.
She arrived on her doorstep closer to one a.m. then she'd have liked and she wondered if this would upset Millie. She didn't really care, as if it did, she'd just leave and that'd be that. But part of her hoped the woman didn't mind.
