"Yeah, she just told me," Kevin said, cracking a smile at her reaction. He hadn't felt quite like himself all day -- it was sort of like an odd, out-of-body experience, like he had stepped into someone else's life -- but the sheer Su-ness of her reaction made him feel a little bit more like Kevin. "I don't know what would have happened if she'd told me earlier. I probably wouldn't be here right now, for one thing. But it's weird, isn't it?"
He wasn't really angry about not being told until now, at least not right now. Maybe it would make him angry, later, although he doubted it. Holding off on telling him was better than certain alternatives, wasn't it? A few years ago, he might have married her, if he'd known that he'd gotten her pregnant. Or at least moved to Germany to be a part of Elliot's life, and then he never would have met up with Dean and Su. "His name's Elliot," he said, which was really not the relevant part of the information. But it was what came to his mind, so he said it. Then, genuinely curious, he asked, "Wait, how did your mom tell you reproduction worked?"
