"Careful, I might turn your hair purple instead," Patience said, chuckling again. It still felt wrong to laugh, but much better than crying. It hadn't made the ache inside her go away, but it did make her feel quite a bit better.
She thought she knew why he didn't say anything about her sister. She knew he'd been hesitant to be involved in Chastity's protection of her on the full, and she could understand why he was reluctant to trust a Death Eater. Whether Patience would have trusted Chastity if she wasn't her sister, well, that was a question she couldn't answer. But she and Chastity had always put each other first, that hadn't changed.
She smiled, relaxing against him as he rubbed her shoulder. "A drink sounds lovely, but I think I'll pass on the sandwich. I really don't have an appetite." A little reluctantly, she straightened as much as she could without pulling out of his hold. "I'll help you."
